Uragano Point Wins Brazil Gr1 Machado
In South America, the colt Uragano Point (Nugget Point-Faldilla, by Johnny's Prospect) prevailed in a 3-way photo-finish to Brazil's Gr1 Grande Premio Francisco Eduardo De Paula Machado (2nd leg of Rio de Janeiro's Triple Crown series for 3YO males) over 1900m at La Gavea. Uragano Point (ridden by Marcos Mazini for trainer Leandro Guignoni) scored by a head from fast-finishing fellow colt Haraquiri (Burooj-Tuurquesa, by Proper Reality) with a further head to another colt Engaging (Arambare-Great Radiance, by Midnight Tiger) who had won the 1st leg of the Triple Crown Series. Uragano Point took his record to 3 wins & 3 placings (including January's Gr3 Grande Premio Prefeitura Da Cidade Do Rio De Janeiro over 1900m at Gavea) from 12 starts.
