Cassandara Shadow Wins WA Oaks

Coolmore shuttler & former world champion 2YO Johannesburg (Hennessy-Myth, by Ogygian) added a group success when daughter Cassandara Shadow (Johannesburg-Pentamerous, by Pentire) scored a half-length victory in the $250,000 Gr3 WA Oaks (2400m) for 3YO fillies at Ascot in Perth. Cassandara Shadow (ridden by Jason Brown for trainer Shane Edwards) defeated Admiring (Street Cry-Ballet Girl, by Covetous) & favourite Brava Fortune (Falbrav-Fortune Streak, by Pricelessly). Cassandara Shadow now has 4 wins & 2 placings (including 2008's Gr3 WA Sires' Produce Stakes over 1400m at Ascot) from 18 starts for $310,850 earnings.
