In Hong Kong yesterday, former NZ Trelawney Stud shuttler Van Nistelrooy (Storm Cat-Halory, by Halo) added a group success when 4YO gelding More Bountiful (Van Nistelrooy-Centaine Gu Li, by Centaine) scored a 1.25-lengths victory in the HK$3 million (A$585,000) Gr2 Chairman's Trophy (1600m) at Sha Tin. More Bountiful (ridden by Douglas Whyte for Australian trainer John Size) defeated 6YO gelding Fellowship (O'Reilly-Mystical Flight, by Danzalion) & 7YO gelding Viva Pataca (Marju-Comic, by Be My Chief). More Bountiful (a NZ$38,000 yearling consigned from Little Avondale Stud at the 2006 NZ Bloodstock South Island Sale) took his record to 6 wins & a runner-up (in January's Gr1 Mercedes Benz Classic Mile over 1600m at Sha Tin) from 10 starts to over HK$6.5 million (A$1.26m) earnings.
