High Chaparral Adds French Black-Type

NZ Windsor Park's Derby-winning Coolmore shuttler & 6-time Gr1 victor High Chaparral (Sadler's Wells-Kasora, by Darshaaan) added a French black-type success when Irish-bred 4YO entire Magadan (High Chaparral-Molasses, by Machiavellian) scored a 1.5-lengths victory in the €52,000 (A$99,000) Listed Prix Lord Seymour (2400m) for 4YOs & up at Longchamp. Magadan (ridden by Anthony Crastus for trainer Elie Lellouche) defeated US-bred fellow 4YO entire Fully Funded (Aptitude-Fully Invested, by Irish River) & Argentine-bred 6YO entire Candy Gift (Candy Stripes-Sly Sarah, by On The Sly). Magadan was a €120,000 (A$227,000) weanling at the 2005 Goffs November Sale & now has 2 wins & a placing (in 2008's Gr1 Grand Prix De Paris over 2400m at Longchamp) from 5 starts for €105,580 (A$200,000) earnings.
