Tramuntana Wins Oakbank Stakes

Tuesday, 14th April 2009

Former Darley shuttler & Gr1 Dubai World Cup winner Singspiel (In The Wings-Glorious Song, by Halo) added a black-type success when 6YO gelding Tramuntana (Singspiel-Hip Hop, by Success Express) scored a half-length victory in the $70,000 Listed Oakbank Stakes (1100m) at Oakbank in Adelaide. Tramuntana (ridden by Ryan Plumb for trainer David Jolly) defeated favoured 5YO mare The Chunkster (Blevic-Racer's Belle, by Racer's Edge) who won this race last year & 4YO gelding Goondi (Lacryma Cristi-Little Ripa, by The Pug). Tramuntana now has 7 wins & 5 placings (including 2008's Gr1 Oakleigh Plate over 1100m at Caulfield & Gr3 Evwright.com Stakes over 1100m at Morphettville, plus 2006's Listed Christmas Quality over 1450m at Cheltenham Park) from 24 starts for $211,455 earnings.
