Prima Nova Wins Listed JRA Plate

Monday, 20th April 2009

Coolmore shuttler Danehill Dancer (Danehill-Mira Adonde, by Sharpen Up) added a black-type success when 4YO mare Prima Nova (Danehill Dancer-Bonanova, by Star Way) closed hard late to land the $110,000 Listed Japan Racing Association Plate (2000m) for 3YOs & up at Randwick. Prima Nova (ridden by Glen Boss for trainer Anthony Cummings) defeated 5YO gelding Lyncean Academy (Galileo-Simple Concept, by Bluebird) & fellow 4YO mare Queen Of Queens (King Of Kings-The Kulm, by Grand Lodge). Prima Nova (a $400,000 yearling consigned by Tyreel Stud at the 2006 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) took her record to 5 wins (also including the Listed Belle Of The Turf Stakes over 1600m for fillies & mares at Gosford) & 4 placings (including June's Listed Sunshine Coast Guineas over 1600m) from 22 starts for $284,417 earnings.
