Shuttler Zaha Returning To Clear Mountain

Friday, 1st May 2009

Bob Frappell "has decided to hang the cost & resume shuttling the Irish-based stallion Zaha (Kingmambo-Play All Day, by Steady Growth) to his Clear Mountain Stud on Queensland's Darling Downs," reported The Courier-Mail. Zaha "had stood on shuttle at Clear Mountain for 6 seasons & when Frappell sent him to Ireland in January he had no thoughts of bringing him back" (due to the cost of transport & quarantine, plus the exchange rate for the Australian dollar). But the form of 3YO Zaha's Pride (4 wins from 7 starts) & 2YO Sniplaz (also 4 wins) "has prompted a change of plan". Frappell commented: "The inquiries we were getting for Zaha were strong. People kept on asking whether we would bring him back again." Frappell will stand Zaha this season at $6,600.
