Giant's Causeway Adds US Black-Type

Monday, 4th May 2009

Former Coolmore shuttler Giant's Causeway (Storm Cat-Mariah's Storm, by Rahy) added a US black-type success when expensive daughter First Passage (Giant's Causeway-Win's Fair Lady, by Dehere) scored a half-length victory in the US$50,000 Listed Snurb Stakes (5.5 furlongs) for 3YO fillies at Calder in Miami in Florida. Despite stumbling at the start, First Passage (ridden by Jermaine Bridgmohan for trainer Marty Wolfson) came from the back of the field to defeat front-running Mine All Mine (Belong to Me-Pulcinella, by Unbridled) & Cassidys Pride (Medaglia d'Oro-Cassidy, by Jolie's Halo). First Passage (a US$1.2 million yearling at the 2007 Keeneland September sale) took her record to 2 wins & a runner-up from 4 starts for US$58,400 earnings.
