Galileo Adds UK Black-Type

Thursday, 7th May 2009

In the UK overnight, former Coolmore shuttler & Gr1 English Derby winner Galileo (Sadler's Wells-Urban Sea, by Miswaki) added a black-type success when Irish-bred daughter Perfect Truth (Galileo-Charroux, by Darshaan) led all-the-way to snatch victory by a short-head in the £40,000 (A$83,000) Listed Cheshire Oaks (11 furlongs) for 3YO fillies at Chester. Perfect Truth (ridden by Johnny Murtagh for trainer Aidan O'Brien) defeated fast-finishing Phillipina (Medicean-Discerning, by Darshaan) & fellow Irish-bred Roses For The Lady (Sadler's Wells-Head In The Clouds, by Rainbow Quest). At her previous start Perfect Truth finished runner-up in last month's Irish Listed Salsabil Stakes (10 furlongs on all-weather) at Dundalk & overall now has a win & 2 runners-up from 8 starts.
