Gloria De Campeao Wins Singapore Gr1 International Cup

Also in Singapore last night, Brazilian-bred & French-trained 6YO entire Gloria De Campeao (Impression-Audacity, by Clackson) followed-up his 2nd-placing in March's Gr1 Dubai World Cup (over 2000m at Nad Al Sheba) with victory by a head in the S$3 million (A$2.7m) Gr1 Singapore Airlines International Cup (2000m) at Kranji. Gloria De Campeao (ridden by Tiago Josue Pereira for trainer Pascal Bary) defeated UK-bred 5YO gelding Presvis (Sakhee-Forest Fire, by Never So Bold) & Irish-bred 5YO entire Bankable (Medicean-Dance To The Top, by Sadler's Wells). Australian-trained 6YO gelding Pompeii Ruler (Genuine-West With Night, by Pompeii Court) finished 4th & fellow Australian-trained 8YO gelding Sarrera (Quest For Fame-Zamsong, by Zabeel) finished 6th in field of 12. Last year Gloria De Campeao finished runner-up in both Dubai's Gr2 Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Challenge-Round 3 (2000m) at Nad Al Sheba & Gr3 Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Challenge-Round 1 (1600m) at Nad Al Sheba. And in 2007 in Brazil, Gloria De Campeao won both the Gr2 Grande Premio Gervasio Seabra (1600m) at Gavea & Gr3 Grande Premio Presidente Antonio De Assumpcao Netto (1600m) at Cidade Jardim, as well as placing in both the Gr1 Grande Premio Presidente Da Republica (1600m) at Gavea & Gr1 Grande Premio Presidente Da Republica (1600m) at Cidade Jardim.
