Ortensia Wins Glenlogan Park Stakes

Monday, 18th May 2009

Vinery Stud stallion Testa Rossa (Perugino-Bo Dapper, by Sir Dapper) added a black-type success when ultra-consistent 3YO filly Ortensia (Testa Rossa-Aerate's Pick, by Picnicker) scored a 3-lengths victory against older rivals in the $150,000 Listed Glenlogan Park Stakes (1350m) for fillies & mares at Doomben. Ortensia (ridden by Craig Williams for trainer Tony Noonan) defeated favoured front-running & top-weighted 5YO mare Belong To Many (Belong To Me-Foil, by Snippets) & 4YO mare Russeting (Commands-Granny Apple, by Bluebird). Ortensia (a $50,000 yearling at the 2007 Inglis Premier Sale in Melbourne) now has 6 wins (also including April's Listed P.J.Bell Handicap over 1200m at Randwick, plus 2008's Gr3 Thousand Guineas Prelude over 1400m at Caulfield) & 3 placings (including last start's Listed James Carr Stakes over 1400m at Randwick on April 25, plus 2008's Gr3 TBV/Eliza Park Champagne Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley) from 9 starts for $394,517 earnings.
