US Gr1-Producing Sire Pioneering Sold To Brazil

US 16-year-old sire Pioneering (Mr Prospector-Terlingua, by Secretariat) "has been purchased by a group of Brazilian breeders to stand at Haras Castelo," reported racingpost.com. Pioneering (sire of US Gr1-winner Behaving Badly & a half-brother to Storm Cat) has stood at Overbrook Farm in Kentucky since his retirement to stud in 1997, where his 2009 fee is US$3,500. Overall he has sired 31 stakes-winners (also including US Gr2-winner Give Praise, Peruvian Horse-Of-The-Year Triano & Mexican Horse-Of-The-Year Canoa).
