Elusive Quality Adds US Black-Type 1

Tuesday, 2nd June 2009

In the US, former Darley shuttler Elusive Quality (Gone West-Touch Of Greatness, by Hero's Honor) added a black-type success when 4YO mare Elusive Sparkle (Elusive Quality-Bedazzle, by Dixieland Band) finished strongly from last-in-running to prevail in a 3-way photo-finish to the US$50,000 Listed Prairie Rose Stakes (6 furlongs) for fillies & mares at Prairie Meadows in Iowa. Elusive Sparkle (ridden by Terry Thompson for trainer Carl Nafzger) scored by a head from fellow 4YO mare Wings Of An Angel (Cherokee Run-Angel Gift, by Allen's Prospect) with a further neck to another 4YO mare Lindsey's Wish (Trippi-Rahy's Wish, by Rahy). Elusive Sparkle (a half-sister to Gr1 Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense) took her overall record to 2 wins & 6 placings from 13 starts for US$104,490 earnings.
