Young US Sire Lawyer Ron Euthanased
The 2007 US champion older male Lawyer Ron (Langfuhr-Donation,, by Lord Avie) has been euthanased "at Stonewall Farm Stallions near Versailles, Kentucky, due to complications from a recent colic surgery," according to bloodhorse.com. By former Vinery shuttler Langfuhr (Danzig-Sweet Briar Too, by Briartic), Lawyer Ron was completing his 2nd season at Stonewall Farm Stallions following the arrival of his 1st crop foals. "Not only was he a superior racehorse but his physical presence and contagious personality captivated everyone that saw him," stated Stonewall Farm Stallions' Clark Shepherd. Lawyer Ron won 12 races & recorded 8 placings from 26 starts with earnings of US$2,790,008. His racetrack highlights came in the Gr1 Whitney Handicap (9 furlongs) at Saratoga where he set a new track record & the Gr1 Woodward Stakes (9 furlongs) where he romped home by over 8-lengths. Lawyer Ron stood at Stonewall for a 2009 fee of US$25,000.
