US Hall-Of-Fame Jockey Pat Day In Sydney
American Hall-Of-Fame jockey Pat Day will visit Sydney from Friday (September 4) until next Monday (September 7) as a guest of the Australian Racing Christian Chaplaincy. During a 32-year career, Day recorded 8,803 winners & his runners earned US$298 million prize-money (the highest ever at the time of his retirement in 2005). Day became a Christian in 1984 after a battle with drug & alcohol addiction & credits his faith with saving him "from self-destruction". He is now the industry spokesperson for the Race Track Chaplaincy of America. His Sydney schedule is:
- Saturday September 5: Rosehill trackwork & Randwick races.
- Sunday September 6: guest speaker at a special 9.30am church service at St Martin's Anglican Church, Kensington.
- Monday September 7: Special guest at 1st Annual Sydney Racing Industry Golf Day (organised by ARCC) at St Michael's Golf Course, Little Bay.
