German Yearlings Final Average Down 23.7%
Overall during the 2 sessions at the BBAG Sale, 276 yearlings sold for €6,415,500 (A$10.906m) which was down 14.1% on last year's 245 sold for €7,468,500 (A$12.696m). The final average of €23,245 (A$39,500) was down 23.7% on last year's €30,484 (A$51,800). And the final median of €22,527 (A$38,300) was down 21.6% on last year's €28,747 (A$48,800). However the clearance rate was 86% (up from last year's 76%). BBAG managing director Carola Ortlieb summed up: "The top end of the market was there, but the middle market went completely amiss. This was to be expected & most of the vendors were very realistic, which paid off for the buyers."
