O'Lonhro Wins Chelmsford Stakes

Former Woodlands & now Darley 11-time Gr1-winning World Champion Miler & Australian Racehorse-Of-The-Year Lonhro (Octagonal-Shadea, by Straight Strike) added a group success when favoured 4YO entire O'Lonhro (Lonhro-Mamzelle Pedrille, by Zoffany) scored a 0.75-length victory in the $150,000 weight-for-age Gr2 Chelmsford Stakes (1600m) at Royal Randwick in Sydney. O'Lonhro (ridden by Jay Ford for trainers Michael, Wayne & John Hawkes) defeated 5YO mare Miss Marielle (Encosta De Lago-Miss Vandal, by Don't Say Halo) & 5YO gelding Triple Honour (Honours List-Myrrh, by Nassipour). O'Lonhro (a $220,000 yearling consigned by Woodlands at the 2007 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale) now has 3 wins & 2 runners-up (including last start's Gr2 Warwick Stakes over 1400m at Randwick on April 22) from 5 starts for $223,150.
