In the US, 4YO entire Richard's Kid (Lemon Drop Kid-Tough Broad, by Broad Brush) motored home from well back in running to snatch victory by a neck in the US$1 million Gr1 Pacific Classic (10 furlongs on all-weather) at Del Mar in California. Richard's Kid (ridden by Mike Smith for trainer Bob Baffert) defeated Brazilian-bred 7YO entire Einstein (Spend A Buck-Gay Charm, by Ghadeer) & 4YO gelding Rail Trip (Jump Start-Sweet Trip, by Carson City). Richard's Kid took his record to 6 wins & 6 placings from 19 starts for US$759,370 earnings.
