Hawk Wing Adds Swedish Gr3
In Sweden, multiple Gr1-winning former Coolmore shuttler Hawk Wing (Woodman-La Lorgnette, by Val De L'Orne) added a black-type success when French-bred 3YO gelding Touch Of Hawk (Hawk Wing-Touch Of Class, by Be My Guest) scored a half-length victory against 9 older rivals in the Gr3 Stockholm Cup International (2400m) at Taby. Touch Of Hawk (ridden by Lennart Hammer-Hansen for trainer Wido Neuroth) defeated UK-bred 7YO gelding & Ian Williams-trained Melbourne Cup entrant Munsef (Zafonic-Mazaya, by Sadler's Wells) & French-bred stable-mate & favoured 5YO entire Appel Au Maitre (Starborough-Rotina, by Crystal Glitters). Touch Of Hawk was a €40,000 (A$68,000) yearling at the 2007 Deauville October Sale; overall he now has 4 wins & 5 placings (including last month's Swedish Listed Svenskt Derby over 2400m at Jagersro) from 10 starts.
