Lucky Secret Wins Starlight Stakes

Deceased Blue Gum Farm stallion Rubiton (Century-Ruby, by Seventh Hussar) added a black-type success when top-weighted 6YO gelding Lucky Secret (Rubiton-Won't Tell, by Rory's Jester) prevailed in a 3-way photo-finish to the $100,000 Listed Starlight Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill. Lucky Secret (ridden by Nash Rawiller for trainer Tony Vasil) scored by a half-neck from favoured 4YO entire Fist Of Fury (Hussonet-Venticello, by Chimes Square) with a further short-halfhead to 5YO gelding Gold Trail (Hussonet-Trail Of Gold, by Danewin). Lucky Secret (a $220,000 yearling at the 2005 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) now has 11 wins (also including January's Gr2 Carlyon Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley, plus 2008's Gr2 Schweppes Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley & 2007's Listed Sir John Monash Stakes over 1100m at Caulfield) & 4 placings (including February's Gr1 Oakleigh Plate over 1100m at Caulfield & January's Gr3 Rubiton Stakes over 1100m at Caulfield, plus 2008's Gr2 Schillaci Stakes over 1000m at Caulfield & Gr3 McEwen Stakes over 1000m at Moonee Valley) from 18 starts for $768,650 earnings.
