NZ's 1st Racing Policy Document
NZ Thoroughbred Racing will formally "adopt New Zealand's 1st Racing Policy document on Monday October 5". This initiative "has been developed to coincide with release of the new Rules Of Racing, scheduled to take effect on the same day". A number of operational racing matters have been removed from the Rules & will now appear in the Racing Policy document. NZTR "has also taken the opportunity to formally adopt a number of long-standing practices, some of which have been taken for granted as formal procedure but never adopted as such & some new policies following consultation with racing industry sector groups". The Standard Regulations for Race Meetings have been re-written & significantly expanded (these appear in the Policy as Appendix 1); the Regulations "now have the force of the Rules Of Racing & bind every person bound by the Rules".
