Carrara Wins Stutt Stakes

Blue Gum Farm's 5-time Gr1-winning stallion Elvstroem (Danehill-Circles Of Gold, by Marscay) added a group success when favoured colt Carrara (Elvstroem-Crystal Sprite, by Hurricane Sky) made it 3 successive wins with a short-head victory in the $200,000 Gr2 Bill Stutt Stakes (1600m) for 3YOs at Moonee Valley. Carrara (ridden by Craig Williams for trainer Tony Vasil) defeated fellow colt Extra Zero (Danzero-Extra Bubbly, by Bellotto) & filly Miss With Attitude (Galileo-Sizzle em, by Flying Spur). Carrara (a $200,000 yearling consigned by Little Plains Stud at the 2008 Inglis Premier Sale in Melbourne) now has 5 wins (also including his last 2 starts in the Listed Henry Bucks Stakes over 1400m at Flemington on September 5 & Listed Essendon Nissan Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley on August 22, plus May's Listed Doomben Slipper over 1350m) & 3 placings (including June's Listed Australia Post Bicentennial Stakes over 1400m at Eagle Farm, plus both May's Gr2 QTC Sires' Produce Stakes over 1400m & Listed Blue Sapphire Stakes over 1200m at Caulfield) from 8 starts for $406,725 earnings.
