US Gr3-winning 9YO freshman sire Lydgate (Pulpit-Mariuka, by Danzig) recorded his 1st winner when Bon Ami Pete (Lydgate-Holly D, by Hey Rob) scored by 4.75-lengths on debut over 5 furlongs at Retama Park in Texas for trainer-breeder Shawn Davis. Lydgate (who stands at Red River Farms in Louisiana) has 32 2YOs in his 1st-crop. On the track, Lydgate won 2 of 16 starts (including the 2004 Gr3 Aegon Turf Sprint Stakes at Churchill Downs).
