Coolmore's Australian champion sire of the last 2 seasons Encosta de Lago (Fairy King-Shoal Creek, by Star Way) added a group success when gelded son Hanks (Encosta De Lago-Sister Fromseattle, by Seattle Slew) scored by a long-neck in the $200,000 Gr2 AAMI Vase (2040m) for 3YOs at Moonee Valley. Hanks (ridden by Luke Nolen for trainer Peter Moody) defeated the colts Spacecraft (Galileo-Demanding, by Octagonal) & Viking Legend (Elvstroem-Innocent Baby, by Jugah). Hanks (a NZ$150,000 yearling consigned by Curraghmore at the 2008 NZ Bloodstock Premier Sale) now has 3 wins from 5 starts for $168,688 earnings.
