So You Think Wins Gr1 Cox Plate
On the Australian track, NZ Windsor Park's Derby-winning Coolmore shuttler & 6-time Gr1 victor High Chaparral (Sadler's Wells-Kasora, by Darshaan) added a Gr1 triumph when lightly-raced 3YO colt So You Think (High Chaparral-Triassic, by Tights) led all-the-way to score a 2.5-lengths victory against his older rivals in Australia's unofficial weight-for-age championship, the $3 million Gr1 W.S.Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley in Melbourne. So You Think (ridden by Glen Boss for trainer Bart Cummings) defeated fellow 3YO colt Manhattan Rain (Encosta De Lago-Shantha's Choice, by Canny Lad) & 8YO gelding Zipping (Danehill-Social Scene, by Grand Lodge) who finished runner-up in this race last year. So You Think (a NZ$110,000 yearling consigned from Windsor Park at the 2008 NZ Bloodstock Premier Sale at Karaka) now has 3 wins (also including September's Gr3 Gloaming Stakes over 1800m at Rosehill) & a runner-up (in September's Listed Ming Dynasty Quality Handicap over 1400m at Randwick) from 5 starts for $2,075,850 earnings.
