Apprentice Looker Quits Sydney & Returns To Grafton
Meanwhile apprentice Ben Looker has returned home to Grafton "following his 3-months loan period with the Gai Waterhouse stable" reported racenet.com.au. Looker (indentured to leading Grafton trainer John Shelton) confirmed his decision "followed a good long hard chat" with Waterhouse & noted: "Mrs Waterhouse has been fantastic & left the decision to return home up to me. I have learnt so much from her & it has made me 10 times the better rider. But I just couldn't quite get the opportunities, so I thought it was best to come home for the moment & look to base myself in Brisbane or at the Gold Coast."
