Dar Re Mi Wins Gr1 Dubai Sheema Classic

Former Darley shuttler & Gr1 Dubai World Cup winner Singspiel (In The Wings-Glorious Song, by Halo) added a Gr1 triumph when UK-bred 5YO mare Dar Re Mi (Singspiel-Darara, by Top Ville) scored a 0.75-length victory in the US$5 million UAE Gr1 Dubai Sheema Classic (2410m on turf) at Meydan. Dar Re Mi (ridden by William Buick for trainer John Gosden) defeated Japanese-bred 4YO mare Buena Vista (Special Week-Biwa Heidi, by Caerleon) & US-bred 6YO entire Spanish Moon (El Prado-Shining Bright, by Rainbow Quest). Da Re Mi took her record to 6 wins (also including 2009's UK Gr1 Darley Yorkshire Oaks over 12 furlongs at York & Irish Gr1 Pretty Polly Stakes over 10 furlongs at The Curragh, plus both 2008's French Gr3 Prix Minerve over 2500m at Deauville & UK Listed Aphrodite Stakes over 12 furlongs at Newmarket) & 8 placings (including 2009's US Gr1 Breeders' Cup Turf over 12 furlongs at Santa Anita & UK Gr3 Middleton Stakes over 10.5 furlongs at York, plus 2008's UK Gr1 Yorkshire Oaks over 12 furlongs at Newmarket, French Gr1 Prix Vermeille over 2400m at Longchamp, French Gr2 Prix De Royallieu over 2500m at Longchamp, French Gr2 Prix de Malleret over 2400m at Saint-Cloud & UK Gr3 Musidora Stakes over 10.5 furlongs at York) from 16 starts for US$4,318,308 earnings.
