In Norway, multiple Gr1-winning Lynden Park stallion Desert King (Danehill-Sabaah, by Nureyev) added a black-type success when Irish-bred 8YO entire Alpacco (Desert King-Albertville, by Top Ville) blitzed his rivals with a 7-length victory in the Listed Walter Nilsens Minnelop (2400m) for 4YOs & up at Ovrevoll. Alpacco (trained by S.Norcroft) defeated French-bred 4YO gelding Touch Of Hawk (Hawk Wing-Touch Of Class, by Be My Guest) & French-bred 6YO entire Appel Au Maitre (Starborough-Rotina, by Crystal Glitters). Alpacco now has 6 wins (also including 2008's Listed Valley Chapel Memorial over 2200m in Ovrevoll, & 2005's Listed Derby-Trial over 2200m in Mulheim) & 6 placings (also including this month's Listed Dansk Jockey Club Cup over 1800m in Denmark & 2006's Listed Grosser Bavaria-Preis over 2000m in Munich) from 34 starts.
