In the UK overnight, Gr2-winning & Gr1-placed 7YO former Coolmore shuttler Ivan Denisovich (Danehill-Hollywood Wildcat, by Kris S) recorded his 1st winner when Irish-bred 2YO colt Premier Clarets (Ivan Denisovich-Blueberry Walk, by Green Desert) scored over 6 furlongs at Haydock for trainer Richard Fahey. Premier Clarets (a half-brother to 6 winners) was a £25,000 (A$43,000) yearling at the 2009 Doncaster Bloodstock St Leger Sale. On the track, Ivan Denisovich recorded 3 wins (including England's Gr2 July Stakes & Irish Listed Solonaway Stakes) & 5 placings (including runners-up in both France's Gr1 Prix Morny & the US Gr1 Secretariat Stakes, as well as 3rd in both the UK Gr1 St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot & US Gr1 Hollywood Derby) from 14 starts. He is standing this season at Coolmore Stud in Ireland for €3,000 (A$4,500).
