Hot Danish Wins Gr1 Doomben 10,000

On the Australian track, former Byerley Stud & now Cangon Stud Farm stallion Nothin Leica Dane (Danehill-Leica Pretender, by Sir Tristram) added a Gr1 triumph when 6YO mare Hot Danish (Nothin Leica Dane-Hot 'n' Breezy, by Zephyr Zip) notched her 2nd successive Gr1 victory with a 1.25-lengths winning margin in the $650,000 weight-for-age Gr1 Doomben 10,000 (1350m) at Doomben in Brisbane. Equal-favourite Hot Danish (ridden by Tim Clark for trainer Les Bridge) defeated 4YO gelding Whobegotyou (Street Cry-Temple Of Peace, by Carnegie) & equal-favoutite 3YO filly Melito (Redoute's Choice-Cloister, by Marauding). Hot Danish (a $32,000 yearling at the 2005 Inglis Scone Sale) now has 14 wins (also including April's Gr1 All Aged Stakes over 1400m at Randwick & March's Gr2 Canterbury Stakes over 1300m at Rosehill, plus 2009's Gr2 Breeders Classic over 1200m at Randwick, Gr3 Research Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill & Listed Wiggle Quality Handicap over 1400m at Randwick, as well as 2008's Gr2 Salinger Stakes over 1200m at Flemington, Listed Wiggle Stakes over 1400m at Randwick & Listed Triscay Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill, in addition to 2007's Gr2 Emancipation Stakes over 1400m at Randwick & Listed Keith Nolan Classic over 1600m at Kembla Grange) & 5 runners-up (including last start's Gr1 T.J.Smith Stakes over 1200m at Randwick on April 10, plus 2009's Gr1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes over 1500m at Rosehill & Gr2 Tristarc Stakes over 1400m at Caulfield, as well as 2008's Gr1 Coolmore Classic over 1500m at Rosehill & Gr2 The Shorts over 1100m at Randwick) from 25 starts for $1,929,830 earnings.
