1st Winner For Canadian Freshman Sire Strut The Stage

Also in Canada, US Gr2-winning & dual Gr1-placed 12-year-old freshman stallion & former NZ Berkley Stud shuttler Strut The Stage (Theatrical-Ruby Ransom, by Red Ransom) recorded his 1st winner when 2YO colt Born To Boogie (Strut The Stage-Northern Fleet, by Afleet) scored on debut over 6.5 furlongs on all-weather at Woodbine for trainer Catherine Day Phillips. His Kentucky-bred sire Strut The Stage (who stands at Canada's Sam-Son Farm in Ontario for C$2,500) won 10 of 28 starts & earned US$1,568,555; his highlights include victories in the 2002 US Gr2 Dixie Stakes at Pimlico & 4 Canadian graded stakes at Woodbine, plus runner-up in the 2001 US Gr1 Secretariat Stakes at Arlington Park & 3rd third in the US Gr1 Manhattan Handicap at Belmont Park.
