Retired WA stallion Vain Rancher (Rancher-Misty Vain, by Vain) added a black-type success when 7YO gelding Casper Cowboy (Vain Rancher-Sunsilk, by Ron Bon) scored by a neck in the $75,000 Listed Belmont Newmarket Handicap (1200m) at Belmont Park in Perth. Casper Cowboy (ridden by William Pike for trainer David Harrison) defeated 5YO gelding Shock Value (Key Business-Graceton, by Fimiston) & fellow 7YO gelding Dante's Volonte (Dante's Fury-Step To Reason, by Squill). Casper Cowboy now has 9 wins & 9 placings (including last start's Listed Beaufine Stakes over 1000m at Belmont Park on July 24) from 31 starts for $277,275 earnings.
