Zanzibari Retired To Stand At Haras Du Mesnil In France

Also in France overnight, the "French stallion ranks have gained their 1st son of twice champion US sire Smart Strike with the retirement of 3YO colt Zanzibari to the Haras du Mesnil near Le Mans," reported racingpost.com. Zanzibari (Smart Strike-Zinziberine, by) "was one of the best early juveniles in France last season"; he won the Gr3 Prix De Cabourg (1200m) at Deauville for Sheikh Mohammed, but "a leg fracture after the Gr1 Prix Morny ended his racing career" with 2 wins & a runner-up from 4 starts.
