Aloha Wins PFD Food Services Stakes

Coolmore-based Australian-bred stallion & dual Australian Champion Sire Encosta de Lago (Fairy King-Shoal Creek, by Star Way) added a group success when favoured 4YO mare Aloha (Encosta de Lago-Tennessee Midnight, by Danehill) notched her 4th successive win with a 2-lengths victory in the $150,000 Gr3 PFD Food Services Stakes (1400m) for fillies & mares at Flemington. Aloha (ridden by Glen Boss for trainer Mick Price) defeated 5YO mare Flying Tessie (Testa Rossa-Paris Plaits, by Flying Spur) & fellow 4YO mare I'm Discreet (Elusive Quality-She's Discreet, by Euclase). Aloha took her record to 7 wins (also including 2010's Listed Lord Stakes over 1700m at Caulfield) & 6 placings (including 2010's Gr2 Fillies Classic over 1600m at Moonee Valley, Listed Adelaide Guineas over 1600m at Morphettville & Listed Kevin Hayes Stakes over 1200m at Caulfield, plus 2009's Listed Henry Bucks Stakes over 1400m at Flemington) from 16 starts for $400,074 earnings.
