Aust-Bred Good Nature Wins Malaysia Gr1 Selangor Cup

In Malaysia yesterday, former Vinery Stud shuttler Way Of Light (Woodman-Salchow, by Nijinsky) added a Gr1 triumph when Australian-bred 6YO entire Good Nature (Way Of Light-Tears We Cry, by French Deputy) scored a 0.75-length victory in the RM300,000 (A$96,000) Gr1 Selangor Gold Cup (1600m) to take this race for the 2nd year in-a-row. Good Nature (ridden by Jacky Lim for trainer Kevin Coetzee) lead in an Australian-bred trifecta when he defeated 4YO gelding Eagle (Clangalang-Unbeatable, by Casual Lies) & 8YO gelding Lim's Fighter (Flying Spur-Sky Watch, by Star Watch). Good Nature (a $10,000 weanling at the 2005 Magic Millions Winter Sale & subsequently a $10,000 yearling at the 2006 Magic Millions Summer Sale) now has 10 wins (also including 2009's Gr1 Perak Derby over 2400m at Ipoh) & 7 placings (including 2009's Gr1 Astro Wah Lai Toi Sprint Trophy over 1400m at Penang) from 29 starts.
