Adelaide Travel Problem Sends Hay List To Brisbane
In Adelaide, a "lack of suitable travel arrangements looks set to rule" multiple Gr1-winning 5YO gelding Hay List (Statue Of Liberty-Sing Hallelujah, by Is It True) "out of Sunday week's Gr1 Goodwood (1200m) at Morphettville," reported The Advertiser. Trainer John McNair "is keen on the Adelaide feature, but the suspension of air transport for horses & a lack of other suitable travel options for the giant speedster mean he's now likely to head to Brisbane for the much-anticipated rematch with champion mare Black Caviar in the Gr1 BTC Cup (1200m) at Doomben on May 14". McNair noted: "The latest I have heard is the flight to Adelaide could cost $35,000, which is out of reach for everyone; but I'm hoping we can arrange something else. But I haven't given up on coming to Adelaide completely." McNair added Hay List "came through his 1400m All Aged Stakes win at Randwick on a heavy track (last Saturday) so well he had improved even further" & emphasised: "To be honest (missing the Goodwood) is not the end of the world, as I am really looking forward to racing her (Black Caviar) again. I don't think we've met when he has been 100% & I am really looking forward to it. It has almost become our mission (to beat her) now. I was absolutely stoked with his win on Saturday."
