Bernardini Adds UK Black-Type

Monday, 16th May 2011

US triple Gr1-winning shuttler & Eclipse Award-winning stallion Bernardini (A.P.Indy-Cara Rafaela, by Quiet American) added a UK black-type success when US-bred 3YO daughter Theyskens' Theory (Bernardini-Heat Lightning, by Summer Squall) returned from a 7-months break to score a 3.25-lengths victory in the £40,000 (A$62,000) Listed Sportingbet.com Fillies' Stakes (7 furlongs) for 3YO fillies at York. Theyskens' Theory (ridden by Martin Dwyer for trainer Brian Meehan) defeated front-running Irish-bred Sylvestris (Arch-Woodmaven, by Woodman) & Wrekin Sunset (Doyen-Sienna Sunset, by Spectrum). Theyskens' Theory (a US$250,000 yearling at the 2009 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga August Sale) now has 3 wins (also including 2010's Gr3 Prestige Stakes over 7 furlongs at Goodwood) & a placing (in 2010's Gr1 Meon Valley Stud Fillies' Mile over 8 furlongs at Ascot) from 6 starts for £73,428 (A$114,000,000) earnings.
