Magic Millions Yearlings Day-1: Average Up 5%
Overall on Day-1 at the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale, 132 lots sold for $4,457,750 (down 12.8% on last year’s 137 sold for $5,111,500). However the average of $33,771 was up 5% on last year’s record breaking opening session ($32,167), while the clearance rate was 64% (last year 73%). Magic Millions managing director Vin Cox commented: “It's what you'd call a sticky market. There are a lot of buyers here at the sale from around Australia & overseas. A positive of the sale has been the significant buying bench that has participated so far & we're hoping this continues tomorrow.”
