Black Caviar Camp Confirm 2012 Royal Ascot Plan
Also in the UK overnight, racingpost.com declared: “As if anticipation for next week's Royal Ascot meeting was not enough, news emerged today that Black Caviar, the unbeaten wonder mare of Australian racing, is on her way to the 2012 meeting.” Black Caviar (winner of 13 races, including 6 Gr1 contests) “has yet to race outside Australia, but such is her standing that overtures from Ascot & elsewhere have come thick & fast”. The announcement of an intended visit to Britain “came from Jeff O'Connor, racing manager to Black Caviar's trainer Peter Moody, during a press conference in Newmarket”. O’Conner confirmed: “Everyone in the Black Caviar camp is all for being here next year Pete (Moody trainer) gave me the okay to mention that. As far as her campaign is concerned, we will get together next month to finalise that. The question is whether we go overseas with her before Royal Ascot. We want her to try & get some world-class prestige.”
