Squamosa Wins June Stakes

Multiple stakes-winning Arrowfield Stud stallion Not A Single Doubt (Redoute's Choice-Singles Bar, by Rory's Jester) added a black-type success when favoured 3YO colt Squamosa (Not A Single Doubt-Class Success, by Success Express) returned from a 41-weeks spell to score a 4.75-lengths victory over his older rivals in the $100,000 Listed June Stakes (1100m) at Royal Randwick in Sydney. Front-running Squamosa (ridden by Jim Cassidy for trainer Gai Waterhouse) defeated 4YO mare Ladys Angel (Arena-Lady Sublime, by Hurricane Sky) & 5YO gelding Jest Crewsin' (Brahms-Jester Crew, by Crown Jester). Squamosa (a $140,000 yearling consigned by Arrowfield at the 2009 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale) now boasts 4 wins (also including 2010’s Gr3 The Run To The Rose over 1300m at Rosehill) & a runner-up (in 2010’s Gr1 Golden Rose over 1400m at Rosehill) from 5 starts for $431,750 earnings.
