US Vinery Sire Silver Train May Move To Pennsylvania
An “offer has been made” for Vinery’s US dual Gr1-winning 9YO 2nd-crop stallion Silver Train (Old Trieste-Ridden Inthe Stars, by Cormorant) “that could mean his relocation to Pennsylvania,” reported bloodhorse.com. Shareholders “were notified late last week of the tentative offer; for the deal to proceed, at least 41 of 52 shareholders had to endorse it & that threshold has reportedly been met”. Vinery president Tom Ludt said he “could not comment on the offer”. On the track, Silver Train (who stood this year for US$7,500 at Vinery in Kentucky) won the US Gr1 Breeders' Cup Sprint, Gr1 Metropolitan Handicap, Gr2 Jerome Handicap & Gr2 Tom Fool Handicap & retired with earnings of US$1.26 million. He has produced 4 stakes-winners to date & currently “ranks 8th on the leading 2nd-crop sires list with nearly US$1.82 million progeny earnings”.
