Hilda's Passion Wins US Gr1 Ballerina Stakes

Front-running 4YO mare Hilda’s Passion (Canadian Frontier-Executricker, by El Prado) slaughtered her rivals by 9.25-lengths in the US$250,000 Gr1 Ballerina Stakes (7 furlongs) for fillies & mares at Saratoga. Hilda’s Passion (also ridden by Javier Castellano for trainer Todd Pletcher) defeated 6YO mare Tar Heel Mom (Flatter-Perpetual Light, by Sunny's Halo) & fellow 4YO mare Tamarind Hall (Graeme Hall-Turner's Hall, by Forest Wildcat). Hilda’s Passion took her record to 8 wins (also including June’s Gr2 Vagrancy Handicap over 6.5 furlongs at Belmont Park, March’s Gr2 Inside Information Stakes over 7 furlongs at Gulfstream Park & February’s Gr3 Hurricane Bertie Handicap over 6.5 furlongs at Gulfstream Park, plus 2010’s Gr2 Raven Run Stakes over 7 furlongs at Keeneland & Listed Bennington Stakes over 5.5 furlongs at Saratoga) & 2 runners-up (in May’s Gr1 Humana Distaff Handicap over 7 furlongs at Churchill Downs & January’s Gr3 Sugar Swirl Stakes over 6 furlongs at Gulfstream Park) from 14 starts for US$739,493 earnings.
