Tuesday, 30th August 2011

Western Australia's Touchstone Farm owner Glenn Martin confirmed US-bred & French Gr2-winning sprinter Planet Five (Storm Cat-Six Perfections, by Celtic Swing) has arrived safely from Europe to stand his 1st season at the North Dandalup-based stud at a $5,500 service fee. His sire Storm Cat won 7 Champion 2YO Sire titles, plus Champion Sire honours in the US, Great Britain, Ireland & France. And his multiple Gr1-winning dam Six Perfections was Europe's Top 2YO filly in 2002, before subsequently defeating the males in the US Gr1 Breeders' Cup Mile. This is also the family of multiple Champion Mare & 10-time Gr1-winner Miesque (dam of triple Gr1-winning Champion Sire Kingmambo). Planet Five won 2010's French Gr2 Prix Du Gros-Chene (1000m) at Chantilly & Martin enthused: "This horse gives breeders in Australia the chance to access a truly impressive sprinter with some of the best bloodlines in the world."
