Queensland’s Glenlogan Park Astud announced Gr2-winning 5YO stallion Rothesay (Fastnet Rock-Schiaparelli, by Woodman) “has been quick off the mark with the initial 2 mares he covered already testing early pregnancy positive”: Kiss And Covert (by St Covet & dam of a Gr3 Kindergarten Stakes victor) & Priscilla (stakes-placed Thunder Gulch mare). Rothesay’s initial book at stud this Spring also includes Gr3-winner Besame Mucho (Encosta de Lago mare & dam of stakes-winner Essington), Show Of Force (dam of Gr1 winner Atomic Force), Gr1-winner Shindig (dam of Gr1 winner Shinzig, as well as the stakes-winning stallion Strada), dual Gr1-winner Elevenses & Gr2-winner Peruzzi (Zabeel mare from the Eight Carat family & dam of 2 Group performers). Rothesay (a horse trainer Gerald Ryan declared as “potentially the best he has ever trained”) was passed-in for $140,000 as a yearling at the 2008 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney & subsequently recorded 4 wins (including 2010’s Gr2 Queensland Guineas over 1600m at Eagle Farm & Gr3 Lord Mayor's Cup over 1615m at Doomben) & 3 placings (including 2010’s Gr2 Sebring Sprint over 1400m at Rosehill & Listed Gosford Guineas over 1200m) from 9 starts. He is standing his 1st season at Glenlogan for $12,100.
