Italian Yearlings: $279k Dubawi Colt

Monday, 19th September 2011

In the Italian auction ring, Valfredo Valiani (bidding for bloodstock agent Anthony Stroud, who in turn was buying for “an existing, foreign client”) paid top price of €210,000 (A$279,000) for a colt by triple Gr1-winning former shuttler Dubawi (out of stakes-winning Mark Of Esteem mare Windy Britain) at the 2-day Societa Gestione Aste Yearling Sale at the Settimo Milanese complex in Milan. The colt (consigned from Azienda Agricola Antonio Rosati Colarieti) is a full-brother to the Italian-trained dual winner Kadabra. Stroud told “He is a very nice horse & is well-balanced & is by a top-class stallion. I’ve had a bit of luck here with Amadeus Wolf (bought in Milan for €87,000 in 2004) & hopefully this colt will be just as good.”
