Jimmy Choux Wins NZ Gr1 Windsor Park Plate

In New Zealand, Windsor Park Stud's Gr1-winning Australian-bred stallion Thorn Park (Spinning World-Joy, by Bluebird) added a Gr1 triumph when last season’s NZ Horse-Of-The-Year & favoured 4YO entire Jimmy Choux (Thorn Park-Cierzo, by Centaine) scored a 0.75-length victory in the NZ$200,000 weight-for-age Gr1 Windsor Park Plate (1600m) at Hastings. Jimmy Choux (ridden by Jonathan Riddell for trainer John Bary) defeated multiple Gr1-winning 7YO gelding & former NZ Horse-Of-The-Year/Champion Sprinter Mufhasa (Pentire-Shella Cheval, by Mi Preferido) & Australian-bred fellow 7YO gelding Hold It Harvey (King Cugat-Daly Charm, by Best Western). Jimmy Choux now has 11 wins (also including both March’s Australian Gr1 Rosehill Guineas over 2000m at Rosehill & Gr1 New Zealand Derby over 2400m at Ellerslie, February's Gr3 Waikato Guineas over 2000m at Te Rapa & January's Gr3 Wellington Stakes over 1600m at Trentham, plus 2010's Gr1 New Zealand 2000 Guineas over 1600m at Riccarton Park, Gr2 NZB Insurance Hawke's Bay Guineas over 1400m at Hastings, Gr2 Westbury Stud Wakefield Challenge Stakes over 1200m at Trentham & Gr2 Great Northern Guineas over 1600m at Ellerslie) & 6 placings (including August’s Gr1 Makfi Challenge Stakes over 1400m at Hastings, plus 2010's Gr1 Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes over 1400m at Awapuni, Gr1 Auckland Diamond Stakes over 1200m at Ellerslie & Listed Wanganui Guineas over 1340m, plus 2009's Listed Weetwood Grange Stakes over 1100m at Te Rapa) from 20 starts for NZ$2,802,253 earnings.
