Keeneland Yearlings Day-5: US$510k Empire Maker Filly

Monday, 19th September 2011

Bloodstock agent Ben Glass (acting for Gary & Mary West) paid US$510,000 for a filly by Empire Maker (out of A.P.Indy mare Indian Snow) consigned by Lane's End as agent for breeder Dell Ridge Farm. The filly is a half-sister to this year’s Gr1-winner & future Lane’s End stallion Morning Line. The filly's 2nd dam is dual Gr1-winner November Snow. Glass told thoroughbredtimes.com: “We loved her; loved her family. She's very athletic, very racy looking & Mr West is trying to build up a little bit more of a broodmare band. Whether she runs or races or not, she's going into the broodmare band. You've got to love her family. I tried to buy mares in November last year that were bringing more than that which weren't bred as good as this filly.”
