One Cool Cat Adds French Gr3
In France, European champion & former NZ Cambridge Stud shuttler One Cool Cat (Storm Cat-Tacha, by Mr Prospector) added a group success (& 3rd-placing) when Irish-bred 5YO mare One Clever Cat (One Cool Cat-Burn Baby Burn, by King's Theatre) scored a 1.5-lengths victory in the €80,000 (A$106,000) Gr3 La Coupe De Maisons-Laffitte (2000m) at Maisons-Laffitte. One Clever Cat (ridden by Christophe Soumillon for trainer Tony Clout) defeated Irish-bred entire Agent Secret (Pyrus-Ron's Secret, by Efisio) 3YO filly Kya One (One Cool Cat-Kya Gulch, by Thunder Gulch). One Clever Cat was a €20,000 (A$27,000) weanling at Ireland's 2006 Goffs November Sale. Overall she now has 5 wins (also including April's Listed Prix Jacques Laffitte over 1800m at Maisons-Laffitte) & 15 placings (including May's Gr2 Prix Corrida over 2100m at Saint-Cloud, plus 2010's Listed Prix De La Pepiniere over 2100m at Maisons-Laffitte & 2009's Gr3 Prix Chloe over 1800m at Maisons-Laffitte) from 26 starts for €220,180 (A$293,000) earnings.
