Red Ransom Adds UK Gr2

Monday, 26th September 2011

Deceased former Vinery Stud shuttler & in recent years permanently Australian-based stallion Red Ransom (Roberto-Arabia, by Damascus) added a UK group success when 4YO entire Ransom Note (Red Ransom-Zacheta, by Polish Precedent) scored a 2.25-lengths victory in the £100,000 (A$150,000) Gr2 Joel Stakes (8 furlongs) at Newmarket. Ransom Note (ridden by Michael Hills for trainer Barry Hills) defeated US-bred 7YO gelding Premio Loco (Prized-Crazee Mental, by Magic Ring) & fellow 4YO entire Poet's Voice (Dubawi-Bright Tiara, by Chief's Crown). Ransom Note was a 30,000 guineas (A$47,000) yearling at the 2008 UK Tattersalls October Sale. Overall he now has 7 wins (also including April's UK Gr3 Earl Of Sefton Stakes over 9 furlongs at Newmarket) & 2 runners-up (including July's UK Gr2 York Stakes over 10 furlongs at York) from 17 starts for £231,370 (A$347,000) earnings.
