Screen Wins Golden Pendant
Last season's Australian Champion Sire, former Australian Racehorse-Of-The-Year & 11-time Gr1-winning World Champion Miler Lonhro (Octagonal-Shadea, by Straight Strike) added a group success (& 30th individual stakes-winner) when 5YO mare Screen (Lonhro-Thespian, by Zeditave) returned from a 19-weeks spell to gain the judge's decision in a 3-way photo-finish to the $250,000 Gr3 Golden Pendant (1200m) for fillies & mares at Rosehill. Screen (ridden by Christian Reith for trainer Peter Snowden) scored by a nose from 4YO mare Gybe (Fastnet Rock-Great Notice, by Nureyev) with a further short-neck to fellow 5YO mare Ofcourseican (Mossman-Yes She Can Cancan, by Canny Lad). Screen now has 7 wins & 3 runners-up (including May's Listed Darley Crown 2011 over 1300m at Hawkesbury) from 18 starts for $377,903 earnings.
